Product Description
Discover Samsung plasma HDTV enhanced with E-Panel technology. While FilterBright technology reduces glare on the panel, a 600HZ Subfield Motion drive serves up smoother, more natural moving images by improving the continuity between frames. Further, Full HD Motion technology maintains HD 1080p resolution during fast-action sequences, and a Mega Dynamic Contrast ratio offers sharp detail and vivid colors. Ideal for connecting HD video sources to this Full HD 1080p panel, the PN50B530 offers three HDMI inputs.

5 out of 5 stars Man O' Man what a TV   December 4, 2009

Ok I was worried because there wasn't any other reviews on this TV. Still took a chance cause how can you beat a 50" HDTV 1080P for $899. no shipping no tax.
Pilot delivered it and even offered to set up for me, but I wasn't ready for the setup so I declined.
Hook-up was a breeze. I have Direct-TV HD and used the HDMI hook-ups and connected the fiber optic audio to my Pioneer 7.1 channel THX receiver. I hooked up my Sony 400 disc DVD player also with HDMI and fiber audio line.
I placed my leather recliner 10 feet back. Got the remote and turned those suckers on. First I watched HD news and could literally count every blemish on the news people faces. Couric needs to get a new makeup artist.
Then I switched to Discovery HD, I literally jumped when a tiger chased an Antelope through the grasslands, hell you could see the spurt of blood as he sank them fangs. I turned on the DVD player and watched Scrooge and it was fabulous.
The picture was outstanding,so to test it further I turned all the lights on and opened the sun room shades at noon. The picture didn't change at any angle. No more fighting over the middle seat in this house.
The best thing of all is how little electricity it uses. I tested the usage compared to my old Samsung and it used three quarters less electricity. I saved enough money on the price that I bought the extended warranty and a blue-ray DVD player. I won't ever leave the house again! (PS I know some of you think the extended warranty is a waste but for $84. and my previous experience with Samsung it's worth it).

5 out of 5 stars Best Picture Ever   December 12, 2009

My God what a great picture! In HDTV the picture was so clear and sharp, it was like being there. I sat there with my mouth wide open. The person that reviewed this TV and said the picture was fuzzy and the HDTV was awful must be on another planet. This is definitely the best TV I've ever had and for $899 it was a bargain. I remember when a plasma cost $9000. I bought a blu-ray player and a polk sound bar and now I'm in heaven when i watch TV.

5 out of 5 stars There are alot of good things good about this tv   November 30, 2009

This is a well made TV. Its built solid.

PRO... The picture is as good as my eyes can tell between TV's. If there is someone that says otherwise they got super vision . The blacks are dark and the white is brilliant but wont blind me and don't overpower the tv. The color is good out of the box. The red in the bottom locks really god in my living room and people seem to notes it in a good way at first glance. The base is all glace and it also has a touch of read on it that is cool. The price is good. Weather you get it on sale 898 or retail 1299 it a good deal. "try and get it 898"

CON... The tv gets warm. Even if left on along time it does not get hot, but the warmth does radiate. To me that's good in winter, but in the summer I am going to have to keep an eye on it. There is a slight burn in problem. There is a feature to help prevent that, but it happens. Especially playing video games. If it's something white it will make a slight mark when covered by a black screen. There is a setting that in about 10 second gets rid of it. The burn in is not that noticeable though. That's just me nitpicking.

SELF FIX... This TV does not have the biggest speakers, but that don't stop it from barking. The base in them sounds horrible. So by lowering the 100Hz setting in sound options I was able to get rid of that problem. Now the speakers are actually really good. The blacks are a bit to dark. I got a DVD with a THX Self TV fix in it, and used a really good black to white bar that helped me keep my blacks dark but not all of them that dark. Now it has a much better aspect ratio.

SUMMARY... This was the best TV You can get at this price. Even if you go up 600 bucks its a match. I got mine at 897 and to me its almost worth the double. There are some people that say it don't have feature like online. With now a days if you want a TV like this you most likely have a PS3, Xbox or BluRay. That's more than enough features to me. And if you want Internet on your TV don't bother paying an extra 300. Just spend that money in a PS3 and get this TV.

Extra.... I have a PS3 With a Monster THX 1000HDX 15.8Gbps HDMI cable.
I have all the seating's to the T so my games and BlueRay are outstanding.
"It is important to get a good HDMI cable and a Good HD source on all HDTV's."
BTW I also have an Xbox and its also grate on this tv.

5 out of 5 stars Great picture, a great deal   December 5, 2009

I purchased this from Crutchfield for $899, no tax, no shipping charges. It was delivered to my door. I hooked it up to the hi-def cable box, my surround amp via optical cable and to my blue ray via HDMI. It is an amazing picture! My Samsung blue ray bd-p3600 has a wireless internet connection for Netflix, Pandora and PC streaming. The PC streaming is not working yet, there is some router settings that need to be adjusted and I am clueless. Otherwise, all is amazing; black blacks, details and true, rich colors. I am a very happy camper and so are my friends who now want to come here for movie night.

5 out of 5 stars Awsome TV   December 8, 2009

I bought the TV when it was $899 and it is awsome. The picture is fantastic and clear. I can understand how some people may say that it is blurry fuzzy, especially if you up close to it, which you shouldn't. You should be viewing it at a distance. Also the "HD" channels I get from providers are never full 1080p so its not the best picture and I suppose could make it look blurry. But I hooked up my XBOX 360 and PC so far and the image quality is fantastic. I give 5 stars at least for now.
